Ophrys lutea.
Ophrys jaune.
Yellow bee orchid.
Ophrys from around the Mediterranean, this Ophrys poses little problem of identification because of its labellum largely hemmed in yellow. In addition, it offers little variability. It will be found in the south and south-west of France (1 subspecies in Corsica) on fairly dry land: wasteland, essentially scrubland. Measuring 15 to 30 cm, the stem bears a few flowers that bloom from late March to early June depending on the region.
