Ophrys insectifera.
Ophrys mouche.
Fly orchid

Ophrys mainly from Western Europe, the Ophrys insectifera although quite widespread in France will escape quick glances. The flowers are few, small and elongated on stems from 15 to 60 cm. Few colored apart from a gray band on the lip. This orchid blooms between mid-April and late June up to 1500 meters. As for almost all Ophrys, the shape of the labellum will present various forms: more or less wide or cut. If we clearly distinguish the 3 green sepals behind, the two lateral sepals are reduced to the state of fine "antennae" more or less short of the same color as the labellum._cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

A subspecies endemic to Aveyron (Ophrys aymoninii) has a yellow margin.
