Ophrys ferrum-equinum (Horseshoe Ophrys):
A medium-sized Ophrys. Found in garrigue habitats in full sun or partial shade. The plant tends to have rather lax inflorescences. The pattern that gives the species its name is more or less visible and highly variable, so it should not be taken too literally... Often grows in populations that may include several dozen individuals, rarely found alone.
