Medium-sized Ophrys. Moderately flowering plant. It "replaces" Ophrys sphegodes in the southeastern Mediterranean region of France. Sepals and petals are green, sometimes purplish. The basal field is often red, with a variable macular pattern generally bordered in white. Pseudo-eyes surrounded by white.
