Ophrys garganica.
Ophrys du Gargano.
Ophrys sphegodes subsp. passionis.
Medium-sized ophrys with dull flowers. Green sepals and colored petals: from green to reddish brown, very wide and with a wavy edge. The labellum is rather oblong with a generally long and shiny macular pattern. Gibbosities not very marked.
Its affiliation and taxonomy pose problems for various specialists. We can therefore consider, as indicated in the title, that it is an Ophrys sphegodes, subspecies passionis and a regional variant "Garganica" or raise it to the higher rank of subspecies, or even consider it as a synonym of "passionis".
